GOOD COMPANY Theatre Group is an amateur group set up by Morven Rae and Keith Robertshaw in 2010 to perform small scale musical productions with casts drawn from the cream of local talent. The productions are funded by contributions from the cast, giving everyone a personal interest in the success of the show, which are then refunded in proportion to the scale of that success.
GOOD COMPANY evolved from ALAS, formed by Keith along with Katherine Glass and Clive Bowden, which produced "Is there Life After High School" in 2001 at the Warehouse Theatre in Croydon, "Personals" in 2003 and Sondheim's "Company" in 2004 at the Charles Cryer Theatre in Carshalton and "The Full Monty" in 2006 at the Barn Theatre in Oxted.
GOOD COMPANY then produced very successful productions of " A Man of no Importance" at the Barn Theatre in 2010 and "The Drowsy Chaperone" at the same theatre in Feb 2012
Also in May 2012 GOOD COMPANY, under the auspices of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Open Stages initiative, staged productions of "Olympus the Musical - A Race Against Time", a new musical written by Ian Rae and Chris Chambers, across four venues. First of all it was showcased at the Questors Theatre in London, 22nd April 2012, then staged at the Ashcroft Theatre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon 9th to the 12th May, then transferred to the Minack Theatre in Cornwall, 17th to 19th May, to coincide with the arrival of the Olympic Torch at Land's End, and finally a concert version was staged at the Caterham Festival, 26th May.
