Why support us?
Since we opened Epsom and Ewell Foodbank in 2012, we have seen rising levels of need in our community. Food insecurity has become much more entrenched – more families with children and more people in work are experiencing persistent poverty.
We believe that poverty is not inevitable and that together, we can create a fairer system that helps everyone to fulfil their potential. We work to ensure that accessible and compassionate support is available to everyone at risk of financial hardship.
How can you help?
Do get in touch with us if you’re interested in becoming a corporate partner. We can help you with ideas on running fun and innovative fundraising events that will motivate your team to get involved and help to raise awareness of how to tackle poverty.
Corporate partners will be sent regular updates about our work. We can come and speak to your organisation and can publish your company logo on our website.
Between October and December we need extra help at our warehouse with checking and sorting food donations. We also need help once a year with our Big Tin Count. Occasionally we have other practical tasks that we need help with, such as painting or cleaning.
If you’d like to volunteer your time, please be aware that we ask for a suggested donation of £250 to facilitate the day (morning and afternoon slots). We can only take teams of up to 4 people per slot due to having limited space and facilities at our hub.
We’ll aim to tailor the day for you but it could involve: Briefing and tour of our main hub, checking and sorting donations and packing for food bank centres, visit to Banstead or Epsom Pantry, visit to Epsom Refugee Network, insight into the Poverty Truth Commission, opportunity for you to share your expertise with our clients, end of day reflection and certificate of kindness.
If you can’t give your time but would like to donate to our food projects then we can help you to organise a food drive at your workplace or at a local supermarket. We can provide a wishlist of our most needed items, signage and collection tins.
Solving poverty is good business! Creating jobs and providing good value products and services contributes to reducing poverty, but many businesses are keen to do more. You can find out more about the pledge and sign up HERE
It was a fulfilling and rewarding experience and worth the stiff arms and legs today!
