One of the things we often hear from people who have experience of using the foodbank is when they first fell into financial difficulties, they didn’t know who or where to turn to for advice and support.
We are working closely with our referral partners to provide advice and support at drop-in hubs modelled on the Advice Café that began at Leatherhead Community Hub in 2022.
Our latest impact reports shows that clients received advice and support on 900 different issues over just one year with an average of 1.5 issues per client such as benefits and grants, the cost of living, mental health and housing.
In 4 in 10 cases, advisors made a referral to another agency for additional support and most of these were referrals to other advisors in the Advice Cafe. Read the latest impact report by clicking on the button below.
