Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network is an enthusiastic group of local people committed to the common goal of helping refugees and asylum seekers who find themselves in this area who need our help.
“Clients referred to us are often suffering as a result of not understanding how things work. So we see debt problems, court actions against them, exploitation, poor housing, not getting full benefit entitlement or things like free school meals because they simply don’t understand the system”
Jo, Epsom and Ewell Refugee Network
We aim to help in the following ways:
We signpost refugees to other charities in the area as well as offering direct support and working with the Good Company support work team.
Our referrals come from Family Support workers, family centres, CAB, hostels and other agencies in the area as well as directly from hosts and other charities.
The three charity co-ordinators meet quarterly and meetings are open for others from our network to attend.
Safeguarding: We operate under the Good Company safeguarding policy . All our volunteers are DBS checked and referenced. They are issued with Volunteer Guidelines and Procedures which covers area of confidentiality, safeguarding and reporting.
Our mission is to see a community free from poverty, where everyone can afford life’s essentials.
