What is the vision of your Organisation?
Caballo Lounge seeks to be a ‘home away from home’, serving food and drinks from morning until night. It’s a place to come together, relax, and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere that changes with the rhythm of the day. Our aim is simple: to make sure every guest leaves happy.
Why has your Organisation signed the ‘End Poverty Pledge’?
We have adopted the pledge as an organisation because we want to deepen our commitment to supporting the local community.
What examples can you give of your Organisation putting the ‘End Poverty Pledge’ into practice?
As an ongoing supporter of Epsom Pantry, we lay on several events a year for families experiencing financial hardship, including seasonal parties and free breakfast clubs for children in the school holidays. These provide an opportunity for children to play, craft and eat together and have fun.
Volunteer ‘thank you’ events have also been held at Caballo Lounge, allowing Epsom Pantry to thank its hard-working volunteers from the local community for all they do to support people in financial hardship.
We promote the work of Good Company and its foodbanks and pantries to raise awareness with other local businesses.
All our employees live locally.
We have provided a space for local university students to get to know new people and hosted a fundraising quiz for the students end of year show.
We have supported many charities through our Lounge Aid funding, including the local hospital and Epsom Pantry, one of the many projects run by Good Company in Epsom and Ewell.
We encourage people to use our space for working as well as networking events, such as the ‘How Does She Do It?!’ events for women business owners. Sip and Paint hold monthly events there and local business owners use the Lounge to meet regularly.
What would you hope to be able to do more of in the longer term?
We are actively exploring becoming a donation point for Good Company which runs the local foodbanks and pantries.
We would like to provide exhibition space for Good Company to raise awareness of donations needed.
We will continue to raise awareness of the work that Good Company does in the local community and encourage groups to use our spaces available to them.
