Volunteer voices

Jackie, our Volunteer Co-ordinator, who has been volunteering with us for the past 12 years – writes about our latest impact report.

Across the many projects of Good Company we have found that one of the most effective tools at our disposal is the ‘good old survey’. It’s a tried and tested way to obtain thoughts, opinions and suggestions on many of our activities and procedures. The information gathered is then used to help us plan and strategise for the future. We have conducted many surveys over the years (feedback from clients, public awareness etc.) and most recently a Foodbank Volunteer Survey.

As we have said many times our volunteers are an integral part of Foodbank, of all our projects, and without them we simply wouldn’t be able to provide the services we do. Their commitment and compassion lay the foundation on which all our projects are based. It seems only right that they be given a voice, a chance to tell us what they think we are getting right and what we need to improve on.

The final report makes for interesting reading and gives us a better understanding of why people volunteer and what we can do to make their volunteering experience more enjoyable, more fulfilling.

The good news is we are getting quite a bit right, and we now know where we need to improve things.

Thank you to everyone who completed the survey and to you for reading it (click on the link here) Foodbank Volunteer Survey 2024
